The most famous place in Kawagoe (川越), would be Kawagoe Ichibangai Street (川越一番街). *Kurazukuri Zone (蔵造の街). Here, you can see a lot of house of the old 'Kurazukuri (warehouse-style house)'.

However... car traffic is intense and attention is required.

The symbol of Kawagoe, "Toki no Kane (時の鐘)" *The Bell of Time (clock tower)
This bell was chosen in 1996 as "designated the 100 Soundscapes of Japan (日本の音風景100選)".
* Inside this is a Yakushi Jinja shrine (薬師神社).
This clock tower is 3 wooden layers and about 16 m high.
Osawa family residence (大澤家住宅) that is the oldest among "Kawagoe Ichibangai Street (川越一番街)" and is designated as an important cultural asset of the country.
