To the Yasukuni Jinja (靖国神社), 2.5 million spirits dedicated to precious lives to protect the country are enshrined. For that reason, we have exhibition facilities related to war. And there are many festivals held for those who died in the war.

遊就館

Yasukuni Kaikan (靖国会館). The first floor has become a resting place for worshipers.

Nagoshi no Harae (夏越の祓)

'Nagoshi no Harae (夏越の祓)' to be held at the end of June every year is an event to delete sins and impurities in the first half.

On 30th June, we can not approach "Haiden (main hall)" until this "Shinji (神事 / Shinto ritual)" ends.

The same "Shinji (神事 / Shinto ritual)" will be held in December 31 as well.

As soon as the ceremony is over, we can pray at the hall of prayer.

Mitama Matsuri (みたままつり)

Mitama Matsuri (みたままつり) will be held for 4 days from July 13th to 16th.

It will be held as an event to comfort the soul of those who died in the war.

Autumn festival

At the Yasukuni Shrine where autumn 'GingkoTrees Avenue' is beautiful, a festival of autumn is held in November.

There are also plum trees in Yasukuni Jinja Shrine (靖国神社), although it is small.

When you go down the road in front of the smoking area in Minami-mon (南門), there are a few plum trees.

White and red plum blossoms will bloom.

The fruit of plum seems to be given to God.

If you go to Yasukuni Shrine in February, please look at plum trees.
