"Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen jinja (北口本宮冨士浅間神社)" at the foot of Fujisan (Mt.Fuji) is also the entrance to the Mt.Fuji climbing path, famous as a shrine with a power of God strong. In order to quell the eruption of Mt.Fuji, it was erected at the direction of the Emperor of that time.

"Zuishin-mon Gate (随神門)" designated as a tangible cultural property of Yamanashi Prefecture.

Zuishin-mon Gate (随神門) was built in 1733.

Temizuya (手水舎 / Hand-wash Place) decorated with beautiful sculptures is made of a huge stone cut from the lava of Mt.Fuji. * It was made by hollowing out one stone.

The dragon of the Temizuya (手水舎 / Hand-wash Place) is characterized by its long fuselage and its tail.   *Please turn to the back side and look at the tail

Manner of Temizuya (手水舎)

* In this process, carried out with one dipper-full of water!!

1. Put water in "Ladle" which is placed in the Temizuya.
2. Holding Ladle in your right hand, wash your left hand.
3. next, wash your right hand.
4. Put water in the left hand and move to mouth, wash the mouth.
5. Hold the Ladle vertically so remaining water runs down and clean the handle.

This is a general usage Manner.

"Kaguraden (神楽殿 / sacred dance hall)" and Temizuya (手水舎).

Haiden (拝殿) was built together with the Honden (本殿) in 1615.

Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen jinja (北口本宮冨士浅間神社) manner of worship

1. Let's put a coin in the saisen box.
2. Twice, bow your head and let's say a deep greeting.
3. Match your hands at the chest height, clap two times, and pray to the god.
4. Finally, let's bow again and say a deep greeting once.

On both sides of the 'Haiden (拝殿)' there is a "Goshinboku (Sacred tree)" whose age is over 1000 years old.

This is the foremost Goshinboku (ご神木 / Sacred tree) "Fujitaro Sugi (富士太郎杉 / cedar trees)".

"Fujitaro Sugi (富士太郎杉 / cedar trees)" is a large cedar tree with a trunk circumference of 8.2m and a base around 21m.

On the left side of the 'Haiden (拝殿)' there is a 奉納酒樽 (Sake dedicated to the shrine).

Very old "Dedication Board (奉納額)".   *Board on which the name of the dedicated person is engraved

There is a big tengu (天狗) mask in the center of the 'Haiden (拝殿)'.

There are many student cram schools where studying camps are held in the vicinity, and many students visit "合格祈願 (success of entrance exams)".

On the right side of 'Haiden (拝殿)', there is a fourth "Goshinboku (Sacred tree)". It is a large cedar tree of over 1,000 years old, with a trunk circumference of 17m.

This is "Tōgu Honden (東宮本殿)". It is the oldest shrine in this precinct.

There is "Ebisusha (恵比寿社)" just behind the Honden (本殿).

This is "Suwa Jinja Shrine (諏訪神社)". It is a shrine with a very old history.

Honden (本殿) was rebuilt in 1976. It is designated as a cultural property of Fujiyoshida City.

On this day, the repair work of the "Shimenawa (注連縄)" in the 'Haiden (拝殿)' was done. *The end of March

Suddenly the light of the sun came in and it seemed that God appeared.

It is famous as a shrine where you can feel the power of God strongly.

In this shrine there are also "Omamori of beauty" and "Omamori of marriage".   *Omamori (お守り) is "lucky charm"
